About That’s What She Said
That’s What She Said is a boozy oriental woody eau de parfum for men, inspired by 212 VIP Men by Carolina Herrera. It is the most nocturnal fragrance we make, and it makes no pretence of being anything else.
The opening is a cocktail, quite literally. A gin and tonic accord arrives first, juniper-dry and sparkling, with black pepper and ginger adding heat and passion fruit throwing in a tropical sweetness that should not work and absolutely does. It smells like the first drink of the evening.
The middle keeps the party going. A chilled vodka accord gives a cold, almost metallic clarity, caviar lime adds a zesty pop, and more ginger keeps the warmth rising underneath. This is where the fragrance is at its most distinctive, and it is the reason people ask about it on a dance floor.
The base is where the grown-up arrives. King wood is smooth and slightly sweet, leather adds a dark, tactile edge, and amber extreme gives the finish a long, glowing warmth that carries into the early hours. Two or three sprays before you go out, on the neck and the shirt collar. Wear it to parties, clubs, birthdays and anything with a queue outside. It is a fragrance that assumes the night is going to be good. Save it for the nights you are looking forward to, and let the amber do its work somewhere around the second hour.

Ours pushes the fruit further. The passion fruit is more generous in our opening, giving a sweeter, more tropical first impression, while the original leans harder on the dry vodka accord. Our leather is also more noticeable through the dry-down, adding a darker edge as the evening goes on. Projection is strong early and longevity runs to around seven hours. It is a fragrance inspired by that profile with a similar character, and an original composition rather than a reproduction of it.

When to wear it
Strictly for evenings, and best in spring and summer when the cold cocktail accords feel refreshing rather than sharp. It is made for parties, clubs and long nights rather than offices or family lunches. Three sprays before you leave, including one on the shirt so it survives the dance floor. The 30ml at R70 fits a jacket pocket for a top-up at midnight.
