About Flores De Mel
Flores De Mel is a honeyed floral oriental eau de parfum for women, inspired by The One by Dolce & Gabbana. The name means flowers of honey, and that is exactly what it smells like.
Aldehydes open it with a bright, slightly fizzy sparkle, the effect that gives classic perfumes their lift, and citrus and peach follow with a soft, ripe sweetness. It is a graceful beginning: luminous rather than loud, with a powdery quality already hinting at what comes next.
The heart is a full and beautifully balanced bouquet. Rose and jasmine lead, lilac and lily of the valley add freshness, ylang-ylang brings creaminess and orris contributes that cool, expensive powder. Orchid rounds the edges. Nothing dominates; it smells composed, like a perfume that was assembled rather than assembled itself.
The base is quietly sensual. Honey gives a warm, golden stickiness, amber and benzoin add resinous depth, cedarwood and sandalwood provide structure, and a whisper of civet lends the last hours a skin-like intimacy.
Wear it in daylight, in spring and autumn, to lunches, work and daytime events where you want to feel polished. It is elegant rather than sexy, which makes it unusually versatile, and it lasts well without crowding the room. Three sprays, and let the aldehydes settle for ten minutes before you judge it. It is a fragrance that rewards a light touch, and one well-placed spray at the throat does more for it than four applied in a rush.

If you love The One by Dolce & Gabbana, Flores De Mel shares its DNA in the soft fruity opening, the polished floral heart and the honeyed amber base that gives the original its warm, golden signature.
The differences are mostly in the opening. Our aldehydes make the first few minutes brighter and more sparkling, where the original begins rounder and more immediately fruity. Our honey is also a little more prominent in the base, giving the dry-down a richer sweetness. Both project moderately and last around seven hours, staying close to the skin after the first two. Flores De Mel is inspired by that fragrance and has a similar character, but it is our own composition rather than a reproduction of it.

When to wear it
Daylight hours in spring and autumn suit it best, when its warmth is welcome but not overwhelming. It works for work, lunches, daytime functions and afternoon celebrations, and it is refined enough for an early evening. Three sprays at the pulse points. The 50ml at R120 is the right size for a fragrance you will wear weekly rather than daily.

They are the sparkling, slightly soapy notes that give many classic perfumes their lift in the opening. They fade within about fifteen minutes, leaving the florals to take over.
Is it a day or evening fragrance?
It is at its best in daylight. The honey and amber keep it warm enough for an early evening, but it was built for polished daytime wear rather than a night out.
How does it sit on drier skin?
On dry skin the florals fade faster and the honey base comes forward sooner. Applying over a plain body lotion will hold the bouquet in place for an extra hour or two.
