About Rule Breaker Risk Taker
Rule Breaker Risk Taker is a fruity-smoky woody eau de parfum for men, inspired by Aventus by Creed. It is the most requested profile in modern men's fragrance, and it deserves the attention.
The opening is extraordinary and everybody remembers it. Pineapple arrives first, bright and slightly tart, with blackcurrant giving it a dark juiciness and French apple and bergamot sharpening the edges. It smells rich and cold at once, like fruit on ice, and it lasts long enough to do its job.
Underneath that fruit, something smoky is already building. Dry birch is the signature: charred, tarry, almost like struck matches, and it grows steadily through the first hour while rose and jasmine soften it and patchouli adds earth. The contrast between sweet fruit and dry smoke is the entire appeal, and it never quite resolves, which is why the fragrance stays interesting.
The base is clean and expensive-smelling. Musk, oakmoss, ambergris and a trace of vanilla create a smooth, slightly salty finish that hugs the skin and lasts most of a day. Wear it to interviews, presentations, weddings and first dates. It is flattering across seasons, though it sings in mild weather. Three sprays; it projects generously, so there is no need to be heavy-handed. This is the bottle to own if you want compliments. Ours is fruitier for longer. The pineapple and blackcurrant stay prominent well into the first hour, where the original turns smoky sooner, and our birch is a shade softer and less tarry. The dry-down is comparable, though ours finishes slightly sweeter thanks to the vanilla. Projection is strong in the first two hours before settling; longevity runs to seven or eight hours. It is a fragrance inspired by that famous profile with a similar character, and an original composition in its own right rather than a reproduction.
